The former chairman of leading domestic automaker FAW Group Xu Jianyi has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) and removed from public office, according to a post on the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC on Thursday.
Xu was found to have taken bribes, abused his power as chairman and intervened in the investigation by the CCDI, according to the post.
Xu's case has been referred to the judicial system, said the CCDI.
