Domestic online travel company Tuniu Corp had a net loss of 246.1 million yuan ($39.7 million) in the second quarter of 2015, although net revenue was up 111.9 percent, according to an earnings report released on Monday.
The NASDAQ-listed company recorded 1.52 billion yuan in net revenues in the second quarter as it gained from group and independent tours. The number of trips sold increased by 84.1 percent in the second quarter on a year-on-year basis.
However, operating expenses increased about 129 percent in the second quarter, including research and product development expenses.
