About two-thirds or 49 of the 73 of the so-called Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2015 are from China, the Hurun Report said on Monday.
"China is setting the global benchmark for women in business," Rupert Hoogewerf, Hurun Report chairman and chief researcher, was quoted as saying in the report.
Zhou Qunfei, a Chinese entrepreneur who founded touchscreen maker Lens Technology, topped the list with wealth of $7.8 billion.
Chen Lihua, the founder and chairman of Fuwah International Group, ranked second with $7.7 billion.
In terms of sector, real estate was the biggest wealth creator on the list, with 25 percent of the women in the ranking having made their money there.
In terms of birthplace, women born in South China's Guangdong topped the list with five, followed by Beijing.
Women born in East China's Zhejiang are under-represented, since the businessman there leads the Hurun Rich List 2015, but only two women on the Top 50, as the report shows.
