A new international freight train from east China's Linyi City to Europe opened on Tuesday.
The train, carrying foodstuffs and tyres, left the Linyi North Station, Shandong Province on Tuesday afternoon. It will enter Russia via Manzhouli, China's largest land port with Russia, before heading for its destination in Hamburg, Germany.
The cargo train will be run every two days, with 20 cars.
Like Yiwu City in the eastern Zhejiang Province, Linyi is also a famous regional commodity trade center .
Several Chinese cities, including Chongqing, Chengdu, Changsha, Hefei, Yiwu, Suzhou and Harbin, have launched similar freight train services to Europe.
