Females have become the driving force behind China's booming online shopping sector. A report by statistics institution Analysys says 70.6 percent of online consumption in 2015 was made by females.
Women spent in a wide range of areas, from beauty and fitness products to service and travel products.
Females are also playing a growing role in the work place.
A report from accounting institution Grant Thornton showed that 30 percent of the leadership roles in China's mainland businesses were held by females in 2015. That's up 5 percentage points from the previous year.
It's also higher than the global average of 24 percent. Meanwhile, the number of businesses without women leaders dropped to 16 percent in 2015 from 25 percent in 2014.
