China, the top buyer of U.S. Treasury securities increased its holding in November 2015 after cutting it for two months running, the latest data from the Treasury Department showed on Tuesday.
China added its holdings of the treasuries by 9.7 billion U.S. dollars to 1.2645 trillion U.S. dollars in November 2015, while in the previous two months, China had cut its holdings by a total of 15.7 billion U.S. dollars.
Japan, the second largest foreign holder of U.S. treasuries, cut its holding by 4.3 billion dollars to 1.1449 trillion dollars in November.
In November, overall foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities rose to 6.1257 trillion U.S. dollars from October's 6.0477 trillion dollars.
