Bank of China (BOC) has launched its representative office in Casablanca, the largest city of Morocco, on Monday, which is seen as a key link to upgrade service in Africa.

"Africa is a rising market for Bank of China in its global development," said BOC president Chen Siqing at the opening ceremony of the office, adding "the establishment of the office will help to enhance service in the flourishing continent."

The new office, the fifth BOC office in Arica, will offer a whole package of services for the African and Chinese enterprises operational in the continent in terms of finance, information and engineering, Chen said.

Abderrahim Bouazza, president of Moroccan Bank of Al-Maghrib, hailed the establishment of the new BOC office in Morocco, saying it will serve as a bridgehead in pushing forward Sino-Africa cooperation.

The Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Sun Shuzhong said the new office will spur economic and trade cooperation between China and Morocco and tap potentials for more benefits for African countries.
