A set of measures China has taken for its economic transition will bring a new wave of opportunities to foreign companies, said Lyu Shuping, president of global water technology provider Xylem.
Measures including green development, urbanization, industrial upgrading and the "Belt and Road" initiative have brought promising outlook for Xylem's development in China, Lyu told Xinhua.
"China is a highly attractive market for Xylem. It is one of the fastest-growing markets for the company's business," she said. "China's sustainable development needs international cooperation. So there's huge space for foreign companies' development."
Lyu noted that China is seeking to make innovation a main engine for its economic growth. "Currently, China's economic structure is undergoing profound changes, such as the rapid development of high-tech manufacturing and in the tertiary industry," she said.
She added that Xylem is focused on how to keep growth rate at the medium to high range given various downward pressures facing the Chinese economy. Another key issue for the company, Lyu said, is how to incorporate China's 13th Five-Year Plan into Xylem's overall development plans.
