BMW China Automotive Trading Ltd. is to recall some imported BMW 7 series models over flawed air bags from May 25.
The recall will involve 3,115 vehicles sold on the Chinese mainland that were produced between June 24, 2015, and Dec. 11, 2015, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in a statement.
A sheet metal in the air bag control unit may cause a restart of the unit and thus air bags may fail to function in collisions, said the statement.
The company will replace the faulty parts free of charge, it said.
