Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co. will recall 127 vehicles in China to replace defective parts in their stereo amplifiers that could cause fires in extreme conditions, the country's top quality watchdog said on Monday.
The recall, to begin on May 20, affects 127 4.3L Royal Saloon VIP sedans manufactured between Dec. 1, 2009 and Dec. 20, 2010, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website.
Tianjin Faw Toyota promised to check all affected vehicles and replace defective parts free of charge, according to the statement.
