A delegation of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong met Kyrgyz officials and business leaders on Wednesday in a bid to enhance bilateral economic cooperation as part of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The delegation consists of some 40 representatives from Hong Kong's leading industries.
Speaking at a luncheon, Eddy S H Li, head of the association, said that the visit aims to explore more business and investment opportunities and develop the economic relations between Hong Kong and Kyrgyzstan within the Belt and Road Initiatives.
Highlighting Hong Kong's advantages in financial, human resource and manufacturing fields, Li said Hong Kong can contribute to the development of relations between China and Kyrgyzstan.
Li also offered to organize an exhibition with the Kyrgyz side in the Central Asian country so that the business circles of the two nations can find more opportunities for fruitful cooperation in the future.
For his part, Kyrgyz Economy Minister Arzybek Kozhoshev said in his welcoming speech that the visit will open a new window to Central Asia for Hong Kong.
Kozhoshev added that investing in the country, which joined the Eurasian Economic Union in August 2015, means entry into the five-member regional economic union.
