Air China
Air China took delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 late on Wednesday, the first Dreamliner to arrive in China. The jet will go into operation on Thursday. Its maiden flight will be from Beijing to Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
The company said it will deploy the jet on long-haul international flights. The aircraft seats up to 293 passengers. As of the end of 2015, Air China Group had 360 routes, including 100 international routes and 590 aircraft in its fleet.
It is the largest carrier flying between China and Europe, as well as China and the U.S..
Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific Airways on Tuesday released combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for April 2016 that show a marginal year-on-year decrease in the number of passengers carried, together with a small increase in cargo and mail volumes.
Cathay Pacific and Dragonair carried about 2.9 million passengers last month, down 0.1 percent from April 2015.
The passenger load factor fell by 2.3 percentage points to 84.9 percent while capacity grew by 2.4 percent.
The two airlines carried 147,643 tons of cargo and mail in April, an increase of 2.1 percent compared with the same month in 2015. The cargo and mail load factor rose by 0.9 percentage points to 63.5 percent.
Emirates Airline
Emirates Airline said on Sunday that it had begun offering Visa Checkout, Visa's online checkout service, to allow shoppers to pay with their cards online and on any device.
Visa Checkout is now available to Emirates Airline customers in 15 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
Consumers simply store their shipping and payment information in a secure account with Visa once, and they never have to re-enter it again when shopping online at any merchant around the world that offers Visa Checkout.
