Television and entertainment industry players from around the world will gather in east China next May when Hangzhou hosts a TV trade forum, MIP China Summit Hangzhou.
The municipal government of Hangzhou confirmed on Friday that Zhejiang Megamedia will jointly hold the event with Reed MIDEM, the French organizer of the biannual MIPCOM gala.
Through the event, Hangzhou will provide a platform for international entertainment enterprises to explore the Chinese and Asian markets, said Dong Yue, deputy chief of the Hangzhou municipal publicity department.
Zhejiang Megamedia operates international video trading platform megamediamarket.com, which has registered 1,300 companies.
Deals between Chinese and foreign companies worth 50 million U.S. dollars were clinched via the platform in 2015, when Zhejiang Megamedia also produced 66 TV dramas with nearly 3,000 episodes, ranking first in China, and 55 animation products of 27,356 minutes in total.
