Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd announced on Tuesday that it will acquire a 84.3 percent stake in Finland's Supercell Oy.
Tencent will buy the stake from SoftBank Group Corp in a deal worth about $8.6 billion, it said in a statement.
After the transaction, Supercell will retain its independent operations, and its headquarters will remain in Helsinki, Finland.
Supercell is a mobile game development company, which released successful mobile games such as Hay Day, Clash of Clans, Boom Beach and Clash Royale.
