The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on Friday urged Turkey to be prudent in its investigation into anti-dumping claims concerning PV products from China.
The comments came after Turkey's Ministry of Economy opened an anti-dumping investigation into photovoltaic (PV) products imported from China earlier Friday.
As important renewable energy products, PV cells and modules are attractive to countries in the fight against climate change and will help them meet their emission reduction goals, said the MOC.
If Turkey was to impose anti-dumping measures on Chinese PV products, it would harm the interests of the Chinese side, while not being in the interests of the Turkish side.
The MOC also said China has always been against abuse of trade remedy measures and hopes Turkey will cautiously deal with the case to maintain healthy trade cooperation.
