The Ministry of Commerce said Solvay U.S.A. Inc. will inherit a 9.7-percent anti-dumping duty rate for pyrocatechol from Rhodia Inc. effective from Wednesday.

In June, Solvay U.S.A. Inc. filed an application to the ministry, saying that it had bought out Rhodia Inc. and, therefore, should inherit Rhodia's anti-dumping duty, according to the ministry's website.

The ministry approved the request after a thorough investigation.

In 2012, the ministry decided to levy anti-dumping duties on pyrocatechol imports from the U.S. and Japan for a term of 5 years.

Rhodia Inc. was levied a duty of 9.7 percent, while other American companies were levied 46.81 percent, according to their different levels of dumping.
