In the run-up the release of Apple's new iPhone 7, a total of 371,000 new devices, weighing 211.50 tons in total, had been shipped from Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, to the U.S. and European markets as of Monday, media reports said.
The first batch started shipping from ports in Henan's Zongbao district on Friday, domestic news portal ifeng.com reported on Tuesday, citing customs officials. Destinations included the U.S., the UK, Italy and the Netherlands, the report said.
Local customs authorities have been working closely with Apple's manufacture FOXCONN, airport groups and 13 shipping agents to simplify the cargo clearance process and boost logistic transportation efficiency, local customs official Liu Lining was quoted as saying in the report.
The move shows that Apple has sufficient stock of its new products and is confident about sales, the report said.
Apple's iPhone 7 is expected to launch on Wednesday (U.S. Time), with a new design and new features, according to a Bloomberg report.
