The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved $320 million loans to finance two energy projects in Pakistan and Myanmar, the multilateral bank said on Thursday.
The bank granted $300 million for a hydropower extension project in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which is also co-financed with the World Bank, according to an e-mail the AIIB sent to the Global Times on Thursday.
Also, it approved $20 million to finance a natural gas-fired independent power plant project in Myanmar, which is co-financed with other multilateral development banks and commercial banks.
