Apple still hasn't found out what might have caused some iPhone devices to turn off automatically, even with partial battery power, and a probe into the case is still in progress, a consumer service employee at Apple told the Global Times on Wednesday.

The person confirmed that the company had received daily user complaints that their iPhones had gone off when the battery levels fell. After restarting the devices, users found the battery indicators at zero.

But after plugging into the chargers, those devices showed partial battery levels again, some customers said, according to the person.

Apple's engineering department has collected a lot of information and is looking into the complaints, the staff said.
