Gross profit of NetEase, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed Chinese Internet and online game company, reached 6.7 billion yuan (994 million U.S. dollars) in Q2, the company announced Thursday.
It is an increase of 27.6 percent compared with the second quarter of 2016.
The company's net revenue also rose 49.4 percent year on year to 13.4 billion yuan in the second quarter.
Net revenue from online games, its core business, increased 46.5 percent year on year to 9.4 billion yuan Q2. Mobile games contributed 72.4 percent of the total, higher than 61.3 percent in the same period last year.
Net revenue from advertising rose 12.1 percent to 596 million yuan, while net revenue from email, e-commerce and other services amounted to 3.4 billion yuan, up 68.9 percent year on year.
Net income attributable to the company's shareholders for the second quarter was 3 billion yuan, while non-GAAP net income attributable to the company's shareholders was 3.5 billion yuan.
