The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has recently released standards developed by China for animation on mobile devices, the Ministry of Culture said Monday.
The standards, approved by the ITU on Jan. 27 and released on March 16, are the first international technical standards in China's cultural sector, according to a ministerial press conference.
"The standards offer technical norms for every link of the mobile phone animation industry, including the file format, provision of animated content, platform operations, and user rights and interests," said Chen Hong, associate professor with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and expert on the standards' development team.
"The release of the standards will promote other products yielded by the integrated development of China's culture and technologies to go global," said Yu Qun, assistant minister of culture.
