Eight enterprises have been punished for violating regulations in the art industry, said the Ministry of Culture Wednesday.
The misconduct included trade of forged art, forbidden content and using animals, plants, minerals, metals and fossils banned by law, the ministry said.
Companies that sold unapproved imported art were also punished, said the ministry, adding that information and sales records of art should be filed and clearly labeled.
The ministry urged all local culture administrative departments and law enforcement organs to tighten supervision of the art market.
