Chinese leading smartphone maker Xiaomi launched an upgraded version of its largest-screen smartphone on Thursday.
The Xiaomi Max 2 has a 6.44 inch display-screen, capable of multitasking.
The company entered the large-screen smartphone market by launching the Xiaomi Max, with the same display size, last May, selling over 3 million units and becoming the best seller of large-screen smartphones on e-commerce platforms JD.com and Tmall, according to Lei Jun, CEO and chairman of Xiaomi.
The new smartphone is equipped with one 5,300 mAh high-capacity battery, which is expected to power the smartphone for at least two days.
The Xiaomi Max 2 is priced at 1,699 yuan (247.4 U.S. dollars) and 1,999 yuan depending on storage capacity and will be available for purchase online and offline as of June 1.
By partnering with China Telecom, the company will also roll out a highly cost-effective mobile Internet package in early June for users of Xiaomi and other smartphone brands, according to Lei.
