An international expo with the theme of maritime silk road in south China's Guangdong Province has seen 219 billion yuan (33.2 billion U.S. dollars) in business deals signed.
The four-day event, opened on Thursday in Dongguan City, has attracted companies from 56 countries and regions. The organizing committee and the local government are planning to build a demonstration and transaction center of products from countries and regions along the maritime silk road, as an extension of the function of the expo.
The Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo was initiated in 2014 in a bid to promote the cooperation between Guangdong and countries and regions along the maritime silk road.
