Standard Chartered announced Thursday that it has established an aviation leasing company in the port city of Tianjin.
Located in the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone, Pembroke Aircraft Leasing (Tianjin) Ltd. will offer Chinese clients aircraft leasing solutions to enhance their business operations.
According to Garry Burke, global head of Structured Finance at Standard Chartered, Pembroke Tianjin has 10 B737 aircraft delivered or scheduled for delivery between July 2017 and March 2018.
Providing aviation financing and leasing services, Standard Chartered and Pembroke Capital Limited, the bank's wholly-owned aircraft leasing company, currently manage a fleet of over 130 aircraft, serving major airlines in 29 countries around the world.
Dongjiang is the core area of Tianjin free trade zone and a national demonstration zone for innovative leasing businesses. Aircraft leasing companies in the zone hold most of China's aircraft leasing market share.
