Chinese car-hailing services provider Didi Chuxing aims to expand in Japan as it tries to launch online car-hailing services in Tokyo in 2018, Japanese publication nikkei.com reported on Monday.
Didi Chuxing will cooperate with Japan's largest taxi company to promote online taxi-hailing services in Tokyo next spring, the report said, noting that the cooperation will meet demand from Chinese tourists in Japan.
At the start, about 500 taxis will be available via Didi's app in Tokyo and the number will increase to thousands, the report said, adding Didi will seek more cooperation with taxi companies across Japan.
