China's top liquor brand Kweichow Moutai is eyeing larger overseas sales as it seeks to enter the overseas mainstream market.
Yuan Renguo, chairman of Kweichow Moutai Group, said Monday that the company will seek foreign customers rather than mainly overseas Chinese.
Addressing an overseas dealers' conference, Li Baofang, general manager of Moutai Group, said the firm plans to increase the proportion of overseas sales by one to two percentage points in 2018 and to over 10 percent by 2020.
Li said the company will develop new products to cater to overseas customers.
Apart from the Belt and Road countries, Moutai Group will focus on the African and Australian markets and build sales channels in more than 100 countries and regions within two years.
A total of 104 dealers from 66 countries and regions attended the conference held in Moutai Township, Renhuai City in southwest China's Guizhou Province.
In the first 10 months of the year, Moutai exported 1,623 tonnes of alcoholic beverages and earned 281 million U.S. dollars.
