Shaanxi province will continue its support of Hainan Airlines Group (HNA), the parent company of China's biggest private commercial airline, Hainan Airlines, and hopes to further deepen cooperation, giving full play to the "hub model" economy, portal economy and flow economy led by the aviation field.
This was said by Hu Heping, governor of Shaanxi province, when he met with Chen Feng, CEO of the board of Hainan Airlines Group, in Xi'an on Dec 3.
Hu said that Shaanxi province is located at the center of China's inland and is the starting point of the Silk Road. It has unique location advantages and could become an aviation and freight hub. HNA Group is an important partner of Shanxi province toward that goal.
Chen said that the Shaanxi provincial and Xi'an municipal governments have offered tremendous support to HNA Modern Logistics since its establishment in Shanxi province. Currently HNA is endeavoring to build Shaanxi into "China's Memphis", bringing world-leading modern logistics and travel resources to the province to help it emerge as an international aviation and logistics hub.
Since its establishment, HNA Modern Logistics has founded around 20 companies, such as Changan Modern Logistics. It has opened three international freight airlines starting from Xi'an, with a current freight volume of 8,400 tons. HNA Modern Logistics aims to build a high-value Belt and Road industry supply chain with Xi'an as its center.
