Chinese bike-sharing platform Mobike announced on Wednesday that it has secured A-round fundraising, led by Japanese instant messaging app LINE Corp. The company did not disclose the amount.
Under the terms of the partnership, LINE is leading the investment in Mobike Japan, a subsidiary of Mobike, by taking the largest minority stake, which is less than 20 percent, according to an e-mail the company sent to the Global Times.
The deal will enable 71 million users on the Japanese app to sign up and use Mobike directly from LINE.
