The upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) will set up a specialized center to deal with disputes concerning intellectual property rights (IPR), authorities said Thursday.

The center will provide legal consulting and mediation services for global exhibitors and purchasers, according to China International Import Expo Bureau under the Ministry of Commerce.

The bureau said it will clarify IPR obligations in legal documents with exhibitors before the expo, to prevent potential disputes.

Statistics show that thousands of companies from over 120 countries and regions have signed up to attend the expo, including almost 500 companies from Belt and Road countries and regions.

The expo will be held for the first time this November in Shanghai.

Products to be displayed include intelligent and high-end equipment such as industrial robots and unmanned vehicles as well as garments and daily necessities.
