China plans to establish a national technical standardization committee to promote the development of blockchain technology, the country's top industry regulator said. [Special coverage]
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on its official website that it had discussed plans to build a blockchain technical standardization committee.
The informatization and software service bureau at MIIT will accelerate steps to establish such a committee, to help standardize technical requirements related to blockchain technologies in the country.
The International Organization for Standardization has already set up a blockchain-focused committee to standardize work on identification, smart contracts and other applications of blockchain. China, as a member of the ISO, has participated in the above effort.
