A smart driver-assist system reaching a world-advanced level has been created by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp's Second Academy, Science and Technology Daily reported on Monday.
Based on a small embedded chip and accurate to within centimeters, the system can accurately detect the vehicle's surroundings after engaging in deep learning.
Public data shows the world's highest object identification rate for smart drive technology is 90.55 percent, but it needs fou0r seconds to discern a picture.
However, the CASIC Second Academy's system to discern a picture only needs 0.03 seconds, and its object identification rate can reach 90.05 percent.
Guo Rui, the project's director, said his team will work with some automakers to test the system, and start small-scale production at the end of this year.
