China announces countermeasures against U.S. tariff plan, including action on soybean imports
China Wednesday announced new punitive measures against U.S. products in response to Washington's planned tariffs on 1,300 Chinese products.
The decision was announced after the Office of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on Tuesday published a proposed list of 1,300 Chinese products subject to additional 25 percent tariffs under Section 301 investigation despite strong opposition from Beijing and U.S. business groups.
