China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have agreed to speed up the establishment of a free trade zone.
The announcement came on Tuesday at a press conference following the 8th China-Japan-ROK leaders' meeting in the Chinese southwestern city of Chengdu.
During the press conference, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang described the meeting as honest and efficient.
During the meeting, Li addressed the situation on the Korean Peninsula. He reiterated that dialogue and consultation are the only effective ways to resolve relevant issues and noted that the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is a "shared wish" of the three countries.
Li was joined by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in at the presser.
