China welcomes more communications and dialogues in various sectors between China and Australia, with a focus on the long-term economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
The Chinese and Australian economies are highly complementary, and conducting mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation is in the common interests of both sides, He Yadong, a spokesperson of the ministry, said during a news conference in Beijing.
In the first seven months, two-way trade value between China and Australia reached $134.5 billion, up 5.4 percent year-on-year, data of the the Mministry of Commerce showed.
Since the beginning of this year, China and Australia have maintained close contact in economic and trade, carried out communications and exchanges at all levels, and promoted the resolution of key economic and trade issues of concern to both sides, which has been widely welcomed by all sectors of the two countries, the ministry said.
China welcomes the promotion of healthy and stable economic and trade relations between the two countries, in the spirit of seeking common ground while addressing each other's economic and trade concerns, He added.
