China's parcel delivery sector set a new record by handling 14.78 billion consignments last month, reflecting the industry's steadily increasing progress, according to the State Post Bureau of China on Monday.
The industry has shown positive development this year, with the average monthly number of parcels reaching 13 billion. Notably, the previous monthly record of 14.7 billion parcels was set last January.
The performance in parcel delivery sector this year can be attributed to the sector's strategic initiatives, including the expansion of service networks to rural areas. Since this year, China's parcel delivery companies have extended service networks to rural areas, investing in cold-chain logistics transportation, improving service quality in rural areas and promoting the scale of parcel delivery business in rural areas.
The parcel delivery sector is a main parameter to showcase China's economic vitality and resilience.
