The total number of nuclear power units using Hualong One, a domestically designed third-generation nuclear reactor, has reached 33, as five new nuclear power projects were approved on Monday.
Among third-generation nuclear power technologies, Hualong One has the largest number of units under construction and operation in the world.
A new project in Xuwei, East China's Jiangsu province, is the world's first nuclear power plant that couples a high temperature gas-cooled reactor with a pressurized water reactor, focusing on industrial heating and electricity supply.
