Shanghai ranks best-performing and most promising local firms

Shanghai released lists of best-performing and most promising local enterprises in the sector of software and information technology service for the year of 2024, according to official sources.

The two ranking lists are the top 100 enterprises and top 100 high-growth companies of software and information technology service, based on their revenue scale and growth rate between 2021 and 2023, according to a report from the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatization.

The chosen companies generated a combined revenue of 761.9 billion yuan ($104.4 billion) in 2023, a year-on-year growth of 14.3 percent, and the top 100 companies' average revenue rose 13.6 percent year-on-year to hit 7.36 billion yuan. The report attributed their leapfrog development to the strategy of actively introducing cutting-edge technologies and expanding innovation models.

More than one-third of the top 100 companies are located in Pudong New Area, followed by Xuhui district, Minhang district and Jing'an district. And the top 100 high growth enterprises are mostly from Pudong New Area, Minhang district, and Yangpu district.
