Following the connection of a new wind farm to the grid on Monday, the installed capacity of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region's new energy reached 100.3 million kilowatts, breaking the 100 million kilowatt mark, according to local power authorities.

The new energy installed capacity accounts for 55 percent of Xinjiang's total, making it the largest power source in the region and ranking fourth nationwide.

The new energy installed capacity comes from wind power and photovoltaic, which have reached 43.64 million kW and 56.66 million kW, respectively.

The region's new energy installed capacity continues to set records, showcasing its significant achievements in clean energy development and green and low-carbon transformation.

Xinjiang has added 35.57 million kilowatts of new energy installed capacity this year, ranking first in the country.

This milestone signifies the important role that Xinjiang's power grid has played in advancing the construction of a new type of power system.

The region has accelerated grid construction to enhance resource optimization capabilities.

Local statistics show that it has completed the construction of 30 750-kilovolt substations and 91 transmission lines with a combined length of 12,000 kilometers.

The region's power grid has become the one with the most 750-kilovolt substations and the longest 750-kilovolt lines in the country among province-level regions.
