The northeastern port city of Dalian, Liaoning province, is making efforts to drive the accelerated development of its low-altitude economy.
During a conference held on Tuesday, Xiong Maoping, Party secretary of Dalian, highlighted the city's favorable conditions for developing the low-altitude economy as an old industrial base city and a coastal open city.
"We aim to boost industries across the entire chain, expand scenarios across all fields, and strengthen support across all elements, striving to establish Dalian as a leading demonstration area for low-altitude economic applications and a pioneering zone for industrial innovation in Northeast China," said Xiong.
During the conference, ceremonies were held for the unveiling of a low-altitude general aviation company, an airspace coordinated security joint office, a service management center, and an industry association.
Various agreements and projects related to the low-altitude economy were signed.
Moreover, Dalian, along with five other cities in Liaoning's coastal economic belt—Dandong, Jinzhou, Yingkou, Panjin, and Huludao—announced the establishment of a collaborative mechanism for low-altitude economic development.
They aim to leverage their respective geographical advantages and industrial characteristics to drive the integrated development of the low-altitude economy in Liaoning.
Dalian recently released an action plan for the high-quality development of its low-altitude economy.
According to the plan, Dalian will establish a low-altitude economic development system by 2026. The plan includes the addition of 25 new general aviation and low-altitude economic enterprises, an industrial scale of 4 billion yuan ($545.6 million), and implementing over 40 application scenarios.
In support of key technology research and the transformation of scientific achievements, the plan includes providing up to 10 million yuan in subsidies for key technology research in the low-altitude economic sector.
