Nanchang(CNS)--The performance of Chinese "red songs," aimed at celebrating the Chinese Communist Party's upcoming 90th anniversary, has also ignited a fervor for renting "revolutionary clothing" in China, reported the China News Service on Monday.
"Since June, renting "red clothes" has become very popular. People come here asking for clothes that are similar to what the Red Army wore in the past," said a shopkeeper in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.
Many companies, schools, and government departments are organizing performances of "red songs," and the clothes are very "in" right now, added the shopkeeper saying that the rent is from 20 to 30 yuan (1 yuan equals $0.15 USD) a day for a suit.
The 90th anniversary has promoted industries related to "red culture." DVDs and CDs for "red songs" and "red tourism" are being sought after by people all over the nation.
