Handan(CNS)--Archaeologists in Handan, Hebei Province discovered animal and tree fossils, estimated to be 200,000-years-old, reported China News Agency Thursday.

These fossils are well-preserved and most of them are of big mammals, trees, and birds, said Qiao Dengyun, a senior official of the Handan Cultural Relics Bureau.

Archaeologists are now trying to recover the original appearance of these animals and trees, which will be helpful in studying the climate and atmosphere 200,000 years ago.
