Hangzhou (CNS)! Released in Hangzhou on July 13, the first Asian 3D interactive virtual fitting room was introduced to the public through cooperative workshops in Hangzhou and Taiwan. It is likely to be available in department stores in Hangzhou later.
The basic component of a "3D interactive virtual fitting room" is a special electronic screen which allows you to see different clothes on your body, without actually having to put the clothes on. Changing your outfit can easily be done with simple hand gestures.
"This piece of work has taken the most advanced technologies in 3D. Equipped with the ASUS Xtion PRO sensation camera, users will be provided with real feelings of fashionable and convenient shopping experiences," says Chen Liwei, vice chairman of the developer Hangzhou Sendong Digital Technology Company.
The "fitting room's" camera can take a photo of the customer in his or her desired clothing and save it in the virtual shopping cart. After shopping, payment can simply be made in the check-out section of the store.
Mo Daiqing, analyst at the Chinese e-Banking Research Center, is hoping that the high-end experience brought on by this technique will be an upgrade for traditional department stores and exclusive shops. It might also lead to a transformation in the clothing and online shopping industries.
Similar techniques have been developed worldwide. Not long ago in Russia, an IT company invented a virtual fitting mirror that changes one's clothes by simply pressing a button. A Japanese company developed a virtual make-up mirror operated simply by a button. The "3D interactive virtual fitting room" represents the international-level innovative capacity of the Chinese IT industry.
