Beijing (CNS) -- Chinese customs departments released on July 20 their expenditures for the previous year and budgets of this year on the "three public consumptions,"-- overseas trips, banquets, and vehicles.

In 2010, of the total 503 million yuan (about $77.9 million) spent on the three, 457 million yuan (about $70.8 million) was spent on vehicles, 11 million yuan (about $1.7 million) on overseas trips, and 34.2 million yuan (about $5.3 million) on banquets.

The report on the three expenses is a general figure for the entire customs system, including the General Administration of Customs, 46 direct sub-organs, 600 offices, and 400 stations.

In 2011, 510 million yuan (about $79 million) is being budgeted for the customs system's three expenses. Overall, it is being kept at the same level of last year's. Vehicles, at 450 million yuan (about $69.7 million), still tops the list. Overseas trips are being budgeted at 26.19 million yuan (about $4.1 million) and receptions at 35.73 million yuan (about $5.8 million).

On account of more frequent contact with the international community, along with China's rise and growing demands for cooperation between customs at home and abroad, the customs decided to add 13.73 million yuan (about $2.1 million) to the overseas trip category.

With the State Council's orders to lower the budget on the three expenses by 2%, the department cut down the amount on vehicles by 11.1 million yuan (about $1.7 million).
