Shenzhen (Chinanews.com) -- Shenzhen Airlines will launch an open pilot recruitment for both male and female candidates on September 17. Females are preferred, however.
The registration will be held at the Shenzhenair International Hotel from 9 a.m. till noon. Applicants are required to be born after January 1, 1986, and must have attained bachelor's degrees before August 2012. Males must be at least 170 cm tall and females must be 165 cm or above.
The airline also expects high English listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities, as well as a teamwork spirit from the candidates. All requirements are listed on its official website.
If selected, prospective pilots will be sent to a collaborative U.S. aviation school for an 18-month pilot course to acquire various flying and language licenses, all of which will be covered by the employer.
Pilot trainees are guaranteed competitive payment and high social security standards.
Until the end of 2011, the recruitment team will travel across the country to 10 cities, including Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu and Xi'an. By the end of the national Twelfth Five Year Plan, Shenzhen Airlines plans to reach a capacity of 180 passenger airplanes and several wide-body aircraft.
