Taiyuan (CNS) -- Shanxi Province's Jicheng city government signed an agreement of strategic partnership with Foxconn, maker of the Apple iPhone and iPad, in Taiyuan on Thursday.
Foxconn plans to invest 100 million yuan to build a "city of global precision manufacturing" in Jicheng, the hometown of the company's president Terry Gou.
The bilateral agreement includes a precision manufacturing industrial park expected to contribute profits of at least 150 billion yuan annually, and rank sixth among international manufacturing firms.
Its business scope will cover moulds and jigs, robots, cutting tools and equipment, optical elements and modules, optical communication components as well as magnalium parts.
Provincial heads attended the signing ceremony and held a meeting with the Foxconn delegation led by Terry Gou.
