Los Angeles (CNS) -- The organizing committee of the seventh Chinese American Film Festival held a press conference at the Pacific Asia Museum in Los Angeles on October 7. The festival will last from October 27 to November 30.
Popular Chinese and American films during the last year will be screened, including My Kingdom, the Piano in a Factory, the Seal of Love, and Sun Flower and the Secret Fan on the Chinese side, and Thor, X-Man: First Class, Bridesmaids, and Unstoppable on the American side.
The festival, which began in 2004, will open at the headquarters of the Directors Guild of America on October 27 this year.
About 100 selected films will be presented to the audience at several film screenings and seminars in 20 sites around Hollywood and San Francisco.
Che Zhaohe, cultural counselor at the Chinese Consulate-General in Los Angeles, said at the press conference that art is shared by all of humankind. The film festival has paved a road for Chinese movies to introduce themselves to the world.
This year will see the most Chinese films presented during the history of this festival, according to Su Yantao, president of the festival organizer EDI Media Inc.
Main organs of the American film industry will also play their part during the exchange and sharing, such as the Motion Picture Association of America, Fox, Disney, Sony, and DreamWorks SKG.
