Beijing (CNS) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is on an official visit to China, the first stop after he announced running in the next presidential election, reported CNS on October 11.
In his company are CEOs of several Russian state-owned energy enterprises.
During the two-day visit, Putin will meet Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao for the sixteenth bilateral PM regular meeting, as well as Chinese President Hu Jintao and Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
The PM meeting will cover a conclusion of the fulfillment of the goals set at the fifteenth meeting, promotion of the consensus reached between Presidents Hu and Medvedev in June, the next phase cooperative strategy, as well as deepening interactions in economy, trade, and cultural development.
Premier Wen invited Putin to a state banquet on the evening of October 11. Chinese wine was served at the feast, to show confidence in Chinese domestic brands.
