Beijing (CNS) -- The Zhongguancun Science City, a key project in China's Silicon Valley, will recruit about 30,000 top talents worldwide for world-class scientific institutions and companies over the next five years, according to the 2011-2015 development plan for the science city released on October 18.
The plan also includes the establishment of four to six large enterprises of more than 100 billion yuan's worth. The science city will also build over 10,000 specialized mid- and small-sized technology companies, as well as industrial parks that house company headquarters and development and research centers.
The science city will strive to creat more patents, turn more research results into production and build a high-tech industrial base that has a global impact.
The Zhongguancun Science City is the core of the Zhuangguancun National Innovation Demonstration Zone. Covering an area of 75 square kilometers, it harbors a number of leading domestic brands such as Lenovo, Baidu, Sohu, Hanvon, and Aigo.
