Qinzhou (CNS) -- The Qinzhou Bonded Port Area, expected to be China's only bonded port handling complete vehicle imports, passed state inspection and officially opened for international auto trade in southwest China's Guangxi on November 1.
It is the first auto import port approved by the government in 15 years, following Tianjin, Dalian, Shanghai and Huangpu of Guangzhou.
As a vital hub in southwest China, this newly-opened coastal port aims to provide convenient and cost-effective services to auto imports, especially from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region.
Combining the functions of a port, processing and logistics, the area enjoys the most preferential policies. It will complete building 70,000-ton vehicle roll-off berths and an exclusive site for automobile storage covering 150,000 square meters by 2012.
By then, its annual handling capacity will reach 300,000 vehicles, making it an important center for auto trade in southwest China.
